You Know This Means I'll Never Be Off Your Back Now . . .

FROM Hollywood to Hanoi, Jane Fonda has seen many things in her 68 years.
But until she reached Pitt Street shopping mall yesterday she had never seen one of those, she said. Tattooed on the right shoulder of a 33-year-old Sydney man was a familiar figure: her own.The proud wearer, Simon Bloomfield, got the tattoo of Fonda as Barbarella on his shoulder five years ago. "I remember staying up late one night when I was young, and shouldn't have done, and seeing all the dolls eating her."There were some scenes that gave him nightmares, he said - and some that did not.Fonda was signing copies of her new autobiography, My Life So Far, as part of a hectic promotional schedule in Sydney. Mr Bloomfield, near the front of a queue that snaked up the stairs and out on to the street, also asked the star to sign his original Life magazine from 1968 with Fonda as Barbarella on the cover, and his Barbarella cartoon book. Fonda said she was honoured, saying she knew that tattoos were painful. "Mind you, if it was on my son that would be different."
